Most of the comodities in the Bishop's Storehouse warehouse are produced by the Church on various farms, mills, canneries, soap factories, etc. around the country. Very few items are purchased. This warehouse will supply the Welfare Square Bishop's Storehouse for 3 to 6 months.

All the food given away first undergoes extensive testing in the quality control lab. Brigham Young said, "Give the very best you have." The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints follows this inspired counsel.
