Bread is the staff of life and Deseret brand is delicious. All the flour used for the bread is milled by Deseret Mills, who also makes pancake and waffle mix, cake mixes, cereals, and granola. These products are sent to other Bishop Storehouses all over the western United States every day.

The Church participates in all the homeless shelters in the city, the Salt Lake Food Bank, and soup kitchens by donating food. The Catholic Cathedral of the Madeline in Salt Lake serves sandwiches to the homeless every day. They get the bread, bologna, salad dressing, and lettuce from this Bishop's Storehouse.
