A very special feature of the North Visitor's Center is the Christus statue by Bertel Thorvaldsen. It is located on the upper floor and is accessed by a winding ramp. The statue stands within a great rotunda covered by a huge dome depicting the creation of the world.

It is very impressive to be there and to hear "I am Jesus Christ ... I created the heavens and the earth, and all things that in them are. I was with the Father from the beginning...I came into the world to do the will of my Father...Learn of me and listen to my words: walk in the meekness of my Spirit, and you shall have peace in me...In my Father's house are many mansions...I go to prepare a place for you...If ye love me keep my commandments."
